week 72: australia style

Gday mum!!!

This week was really weird and good!!  Christmas was this week, it is always weird as spending Christmas away from the fam.  I am super grateful for the people here that treat me and my companion like family though.  I don't have much time this week because we have to pick some elders up from the train station.  But good news me and Elder Cook are staying another transfer in WERRIBEE!!!   I am keen as a bean right now, we might be training a missionary together as well, so that would be cool I have never been in a tri panionship before.  But at this point I doubt it will happen hahha!  My testimony of Jesus Christ has been strengthened this week as well.  It has been such a blessing to be a missionary and to ponder on the true meaning of Christmas.  It is truly amazing the gift that he has given for us, and how much love he has for us.  I am thankful to be his servant, I will serve him to the end!!  I am loving it!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW MUM!!!!  Man I AM EXCITED AS FOR YOU!!!!  It was so good to see you on Christmas as well, today me and my companion are celebrating our 17 month mark, but it is technically my 18 and a half mark cuz I go early :P.  I love being a missionary mum.  I am really sad to hear bro. Neilson passed away, send my love to their family. I hope you have an amazing week mum and birthday!!!  Cheers!

week 71: australia style

Gday mum!!!

So this week was really really really good!!  So Colin and Pue got baptised this week, that was grouse(good)!!!  They are so awesome, and I have really enjoyed teaching them the Gospel.  We have had heaps of meetings this week as well, we had another zone meeting this Tuesday and another meeting with our zone with the Stake Presidency.  Our zone has picked up so much it has been awesome to be a part of, because it just goes to show that the Lord is truly preparing his children to receive the Gospel.
On Friday we went carolling at the train station, we had 8 missionaries sing and 2 people would walk and talk to people.  Man, it was funny as, I was trying to talk to this dude and all of a sudden he just gaps it...  He left me in his dust man, I was like "what a stonch dude!" I started busting out laughing though!!  It was cool though, there were some people that stood by and just listened to the carols, must have been my beautiful voice!  Hahah jokes!
This week was special because I was thinking about a gift I could give back to the Savior.  He has given me so much, and I came to the conclusion that I need to be more grateful in my prayers and to continue to try and help anyone that is in need.  Gratitude is the catalyst to all Christlike attributes, and my companion and I are going to have a grateful week.  Everytime something happens good or bad, we are going to be grateful in prayer for the things that we have been given!  I hope we all can remember the important attribute of gratitude this Christmas season!!
Gday mum!!! This week has been hot as!  It is finally looking like summer down here, I am really excited for Skype!  For Christmas we have a few islander feeds so that equals death.  Hopefully I wont be in a food coma for the Skype call hahahha!  So we are gonna have to do it on facetime, we are doing it as Bishop's house and he doesn't have Skype, just facetime.  So I hope that is all goods!  Can you send me the email where you would like to face time from??  I love you so much mum!!!  I am really excited for our family, so many blessings coming forth!  Talk to you soon :) Cheers!

merry christmas

Gday MUM!!!

This week was good as!!  We had our mission Christmas party, and we got to watch How to Train Your Dragon 2.  Everyone was freaking out is was awesome!!  We also had a chance to teach Pue and she is golden as, she is already putting together her own baptismal program and her baptism is this Sunday!  We also taught our other Progressing investigator, Colin and he passed his interview as well so he will be baptised on Saturday yipeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!  The work is hot right now in the WERRI-bizzle!  Me and my comp are having heaps of fun together, we are flippin weird together at a district meeting this week my comp and I did a short training on planning and then we talked about our zone goal and to get every one pumped I threw the marker up in the air after writing the zone goal down and said "peace out."  I don't know what got into me, but I was just fired up!!  Our zone is going HARD to achieve this months zone goal so the work is heaps of fun right now!
I was reading in Luke 7 today and it was truly humbling to read about the woman who was a sinner and she did all that she could to serve Jesus.  She washed his feet with her tears, and dried them with her hair.  Then anointed Jesus with oil, and because of her humility and faith, Jesus forgave her of all of her sins.  How great is it to serve the Lord, I know that this church is true and that we can strengthen our faith through the scriptures!!
Hey mum!!  I loved the package thank you so much!!  I love the yo yo, I am becoming a yo yo master!!  I love the socks and the ties and the pants it was all fantastic!! The Christmas party was awesome though, it was really good to get a taste of home.  I cant believe I will be back in 6 months, feels like I just barely left so my return date now is June 17th but that is subject to change.  Today we have a zone p day and we are going head up in b ball against another zone of missionaries hopefully we smash em hahaha, jk!  That should be heaps of fun though, Maguire is crakkup as!!  Thank you so much for all that you do mum!!  I love you so much, sorry I don't have too much time today!  Cheers!

week 69: australia style

Gday mum!!

So this week was pretty awesome!!  So we had an awesome zone meeting on Thursday.  My companion and I put together with the help of the wonderful members, a re-enactment of Lehi's dream of the Tree of Life.  We had the different members act as temptations, some had food and some pretended they were at the beach, etc.  So the missionaries had to hold onto the iron rod and make it to the tree of life, and in the tree of life room we had a testimony meeting.  It was so powerful and it really strengthened my faith.  It was heaps of fun too:)
We also had an awesome experience with Pue, so we invited her to pray for a baptism date last week, and she prayed this week!  So what happened was she went for a run after praying and she felt a very strong impression that God was waiting for her for the past 2 years to get baptised.  When we went there on Saturday she told us she wanted to get baptised as soon as possible!!  What a miracle!!  So she will be getting baptised on the 20th of this month.  I am really so greatful to be a missionary, it strengthens my faith each day seeing people like Pue, who just are so prepared.  No thanks to me of course, but to the Spirit of the Lord...  I love being an instrument in the Lord's hands.  I love this work with all my heart!! :)
Gday mum!!  Yep!  The Christmas party is this week, I am so excited!  It is really awesome to be a missionary around the holiday season, many people who wouldn't be interested the rest of the year become interested around this time due to the message of Christ's birth.  I am glad that you liked our beat box showcase, there are many more where that came from hahaha!!  I practice all the time in the car, it is becoming a pretty cool hobby.  Today my comp. and I are going to kick back and relax, we went HARD this past week....  I am so excited for this upcoming week, Christmas is almost here I cant believe it.  I have 26 Sundays left on my mission.... Because I found out on Tuesday at MLC I will be coming home in mid June instead of July.  Due to visa difficulties.  I love you so much mum!!  I hope you have a wonderful Week!!  Cheers!

week 68: australia style

thanksgiving yo

Gday mum!!

This week was really good week!!  So I started off the week on an exchange in a wonderful place called Geelong.  It's another beach town, and it is beautiful as.  I went with these two Elders named Elder Long and Elder Concardes.  They are a part of a tri panionship, we had so much fun.  So we played a game at the bus stop, whoever could get the most return appointments got a slurpee.  So we found for like 2 hours at the bus stop.  At the end of it, we all deserved a slurpee, so I bought one for all of us.  It was heaps of fun, to work together that way.  We also had THANKSGIVING!!!  It was pretty funny, we were all sitting there with like 6 other missionaries and one of the missionaries told the hostess that my companion and I love to perform.  He said that I could beat box and my companion could sing.  So she made us perform of course, and we beat boxed and sang to "Praise to the Man."  It was epic, I wish I could send videos.
Had a really spiritual experience this week with a woman named Pue, who was a former investigator from a year ago.  She almost got baptised and then some stuff happened.  We just stopped by her house and talked to her about God's purpose for his children.  In the midst of the lesson she told us, "I need to get baptised as soon as possible, it is what God wants me to do."  We invited her to pray for a baptismal date.  I really know that God has an ultimate purpose and plan for us, we are so lucky to know his plan, others are not.  That is why I love sharing this message.  I know it is true with all my heart!
Sounds like a busy as week mum!  I was pretty busy as well with 3 thanksgiving dinners haha.  EVERYONE and their dog wanted to feed us for Thanksgiving it was funny as.  Today is our zone p day and we are filming a nativity and then going lazer tagging, should be flippin awesome!  I am loving the work right now, seeing a bunch of miracles come forth.  I cant wait for next thanksgiving, it's just not the same over here hahaha....  No orange rolls hahaha, Australians don't believe in them.
I love you so much mum!!
Have an awesome week mum!!  Cheers!

week 67: australia style

got a roast pig yesterday

mirror pic

we baked some pretty terrible cookies

Gday mum!!

This week was pretty awesome!  We have some 2 new faces in the zone, which isn't too many so it will be good to keep the momentum rolling!  My companion and I set dates with two guys that we have been working with for a while, their names are Colin and Hadi.  Their dates are for December 20th!  So on the first day of the transfer, my companion and I wanted to make cookies for all of the missionaries in the zone for our zone meeting the next day.  So we got this recipe and we doubled it.  But the dough looked runny as, so I kept putting more and more flour in it until it wasn't runny anymore...  So we put em in the oven and we take em out.  We start to eat one to see if they were all goods, then we both looked at each other in disgust.  We put so much flour in, you could only taste flour, and it gave us some mean cotton mouth afterwards.  Yeah, they were the worst cookies I have ever had.  But it's the thought that counts right :)  So we gave them all to the sisters :)
My testimony has gotten strengthened the past couple of weeks, my companion and I have been struggling a bit to find some new people to teach that are solid.  In the midst of those struggles, I couldn't help but think that the Lord suffered far worse than what we were experiencing.  I know the power of the Atonement enables us to do things that we couldn't do by ourselves.  We are seeing miracles as we use it each day :)  I love my Savior Jesus Christ, he loves us.
Hey mum!!!  Thank you so much for your email, and the work that you are doing on my room, it looks awesome!!  I really like the color of the paint, you are doing a great job. This week has been great, we are seeing some success.  The zone is awesome, there is a bunch of hard working, obedient missionaries here.  I found out this week that my companion is a red neck.  He tries to kill birds in the back yard. He loves to hunt.  He is awesome lol!  I love you so much mum!  Thank you for all that you do for me.  Have a great week! Cheers!

week 66: australia style

toilet paper

da zone

Gday mum!!

Yo yo yo!!  So this week was pretty ballin!  So I am staying another transfer with my companion Elder Cook!  There are quite a few missionaries leaving the zone which is unfortunate...  But we are really excited for the new transfer to see what we can do together!  Something crazy that happened this week was our flat got pranked!  So we left our back sliding door open, and some missionaries were able to get in and prank us...  There was baby powder all over the floor and vegemite all over the handles of everything.  One of the Elders in our flat Elder Pitt, came running in and he slipped on the baby powder and we busted out laughing.  We found out who the culprit was, and we are planning revenge....  Haha jk, I am a lover not a fighter!  But one day later some of the members toilet papered our house hard out!  It was a mean job, and it took ages to pick up, lets just say they knew what they were doing!
At the moment we are in the process of finding some new peeps!  We have an investigator named Doug who is awesome, he has a less active wife who introduced him to us and he will get baptised soon hopefully!  He is keen and a bean!
I love this work so much, sometimes weeks like this aren't the best, when you spend 2 hours cleaning up vegemite but I can look back and laugh now which is good!  The Lord tests us in peculiar ways hey???
Gday mum!  Sorry I have been leaving out some of the specifics, I am always just in a rush to do something haha.  All of your answers were correct except the last one, my area is called Werribee and it is in the Wyndham zone hahahah!  I wake up at 6:30 on the dot every single day hahah, sometimes even earlier if we go and play b ball!  My favourite part of the day has got to be studies, or the time we get to go finding.  The hardest thing about the mission is balancing fun with being a dignified servant of the Lord, I tend not to do as many stupid things anymore hahaha because I love having fun.  But what I have found on my mission, is the times I have the most fun are the times that I am being exactly obedient.  My comp is cool as, he likes b ball so we get along pretty well haha!  My buddies are good, we are still all talking and they are alive for the most part!  Today we are going to the chapel for games and pizza, this is the last day we have with a bunch of our missionaries getting transferred so we are spending time with each other.  I love you so much mum, keep asking Q's and I will answer!  I hope you have a wonderful week, you are an inspiration to me each day.  Cheers!

tarawa's baptism

wyndham zone

Gday mum!!

This week has  been really hectic!  We started off the week at MLC, at the mission home.  All the ZL's around the mission came and had a 7 hour meeting!!  On the way to the meeting we got some Krispy Kremes and they were sooooo good!!  We also got AMERICAN CEREAL at the meeting for lunch, which was a Christmas miracle!!  Captain Crunch all day!  The meeting was really good though, we had a General Authority come, named Elder Dudfield.  He taught us about the importance of aligning with the brethren, it was awesome!!
We also had Zone conference this week!  Which was another 7 hour meeting with the rest of our zone.  Heaps of great trainings I learned heaps!
We also had a baptism this week!  Tarawa got baptised!  Funny story actually...  So yesterday afternoon at 3, we went to Tarawa's home to see if he was all ready for his baptism at 4 30.  His mum was there, and told us that she had no idea where Tarawa was.  So we drove around all around Werribee trying to find this kid, and an hour later we found him at the public swimming pool hahah!  So he went back home, got changed and we had the baptism, my companion and I were so frustrated we wanted to cry hhahahaha!  But we found him!!
I know the Lord tests us in different ways to prepare us, so that we can maximize our capability.  I love this Gospel, my companion and I are seeing miracle after miracle!!
Hi mum!!  I hope you have had a great week!  My week has been all goods, today I think my comp and I will take a nap.  It has been a long week, and this week is the week where we find out if we are being transferred or staying, so the drama is real hahaa!  But I am really excited to see what happens, I hope I stay!
I love you so much mum!!  I hope you have a great week!  Cheers!
p.s. my return date is July 17th, 2015 and possibly earlier they are trying to figure out the visa still.

week 64: australia style

Gday mum!!

This week was pretty hectic ay!!  So we didn't get much done this week because we switched flats with the sister missionaries because people were causing trouble at their flat!  Now we are in the danger zone lol :P  Then on Friday, this Tongan family gave us some horse to eat and my companion and I got food poisoning:)  Haha it was a bit rough, I wish I would  have been able to get out more this week, but it was a good learning experience!! :)
Gday mum!! We have zone P day today, we are playing bubble soccer I am excited as!!  I am feeling a bit better after a rough couple of days.  I am sorry I don't have much time today, we have a reservation we need to catch!  I love you so much mum!!  Have a great week!!  CHeers!

heath's baptism

Gday mum!!!

Well this week was awesome as!!!  Heath got baptised and it was awesome to see how excited he was.  I am really grateful that I had the opportunity to be a part of his journey.  My companion and I saw many miracles this week, we were able to find some new investigators and set expectations with them.  We have 2 baptisms planned for next week, Tarawa and Belinda!!  It should be another miracle filled week!
I really saw how prayer really does work this week.  My companion and I were really worried about a missionary in our zone, and we knelt down in prayer and just asked what we could say to him to help him in any way.  This morning we had the opportunity to see this missionary and talk with him, and as we relied on the spirit we saw this missionary change in front of our eyes and then finally he opened up and told us what he was struggling with.  What a miracle!!!  This has happened to me numerous times on my mission, I know without a doubt that God will prepare a way for us as we ask him specifically!!!
Gday mum!!  I am glad you have had a good week!  The weather has been pretty dodgy this morning, I woke up and it was pouring rain pretty bad!!  Now it is sunny as!!  4 seasons in one day in Melbourne haha!  I am sorry I do not have much time, but my waist size is a 36  I am getting fat mum!!!!!  haha any suggestions??  I love you so much mum, thank you for your love and support.  Cant believe time is flying so fast, I will be home in no time, yikes that is scary!  I hope you have a great week!

sharni got baptized.

like my turtle neck sweater?

Gday mum!!!

This week was really good but a bit hectic!!  Sharni decided that she wanted to get baptized about 2 days before Saturday, so we planned a baptism in less than 48 hours we were busy as!!  It was an awesome service though!  At the service Heath told me that he was ready to give up smokes, so he will be getting baptized next week with Belinda hopefully!  We have seen heaps of miracles this week, it has been awesome!  We met this girl named Abok yesterday and we were able to teach her about eternal families and she really desired that for her family.  She is getting baptized on the 15th of November!
Although this week was a bit stressful, I am thankful for the trials and challenges my companion and I faced as we battled this week.  My trials are truly shaping me into something better.  I love the Lord, and I am thankful everyday to be his representative.
Gday mum! I got the box, thank you so much!  I love everything!  My comp. and I were wearing mustaches all morning!  I am wearing one of my new ties as well, I love them!  As for what size I am,  I have no idea what pant size I am.  But I was just wondering if they could be slim fit, so I can look fly lol!  I am not missing too much from back home, I could maybe use another belt the one I have right now is getting a bit worn.  But I am really good with everything, my shirts are good as well.  But I always love suprises!  We have a big leadership meeting this Thursday, after our zone goes to the temple, I am really excited for that.  I love meeting with President Maxwell, he is a very inspired man. I CANT BELIEVE SHELL IS GETTING MARRIED!!!  MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  That is mean as!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am pumped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THis is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  WoOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  SHE IS THE BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Man, I am keen to be there for it too!!  I love you so much mum!!  Thank you for the box and everything that you do for me, I am very grateful to have you as my mum.  I hope you have an awesome week!!

week 61: australia style

Gday mum!!

This week was really good!  I got my new companion his name is Elder Cook!  We came out together, and stayed in the same room at the MTC together!  So it was really good to be put with an old friend.  We ball hard at basketball every morning, it is good playing against someone that is pretty good lol!  We also had General Conference this weekend, and it was amazing!!  I loved it!  I would have to say the theme of conference was focusing on the importance of the covenants that we have made to follow Jesus Christ, and the importance to renew those covenants.  There are definatley some things I need to work on in terms of partaking the Sacrament and making it more meaningful.  I love this Gospel, I am so very grateful for the brethren and their inspired words!
Heath and Belinda had us over for a BBQ yesterday as well, and Heath's parents were there!  We were able to teach the parents about Repentance and it was awesome!!  Baptise the whole family hahaha!  I love this work with all my heart.
Gday mum!!  Man that cat story made me bust out laughing lol!!  I haven't talked to President about my departure date but I can ask the assistants tonight.  As for a Christmas list, hmmmmmmmmm.  Ya prolly some new pants hey. Haha that is really the only thing I need at the moment.  Man I cant wait to drive around in the swaggin wagon when I come back lol!  I am going to give a mean paint job, flames mate!  Haha I haven't seen my family yet, they come back this Tuesday and I am super excited to get the package, thank you so much mum.  I am eternally indebt for the opportunity that I have been given to serve a mission both to you and to dad and my Heavenly Father.  I love you so much mum, I hope you have a great week!

Everyone in our flat has taken turns getting sick this week, so I was pretty under the weather for most of last week but I am feeling heaps better now, that the sun is shining!!  Belinda got me heaps of American candy a couple days ago, so I have been GOING HARD with my compana.  Elder Fale is THE man he goes home in 2 weeks though, which is sad as but we will go hard these last two weeks!  I love this work so much, and I definitely feel like the Lord is moulding me into something better out here.

Gday mum!!!
Man this week was really good!!  Didn't get to spend much time in our area this week, because we went on pretty much 3 exchanges!!  We drove about 3 hours to an area called Warrnambool, and we exchanged with the Elders there.  No one told me that Warrnambool was beautiful as!!  I was amazed hey!  I am definitely going to go back there one day, the people were very friendly and it was a good place to serve for a day.  We were blessed to meet this man named Ian on the exchange, and he was very excited to learn more about God's Plan for him.  I loved my exchange there, on the way back home my companion and I took a drive on the GREAT OCEAN ROAD back to Werribee, it was awesome and my companion really wanted to go there before he leaves in 3 weeks to go home! I am loving it right now!  Oh I also went to a temple sealing this week, it was amazing, makes me excited to be sealed someday!! ;) hahahhahaha!
Gday mum!  It is all goods, I don't have to get a new suit.  I will just start eating more and get it tailored haha.  I am all goods with supplies and everything, and it is all good in the hood.  I need to take the fam to Warrnambool one day, yous would love it!  Reminded me of California, minus the gangs haha!  Today we have a zone p day so my comp and I have been planning it for the last week, we are having all the missionaries in the zone come for an amazing race!  It should be pretty fun, I will take pictures!!  I love you so much mum!!  Have an amazing week!!  Cheers!
